Its such an Inspiration seeing all this work by players trying to make a game that IS NOT MTG. The TCG market has been stale for so long... Im really hoping this years Gen Con changes all that, ALOT of great games are set to show themselves (at least with this one I can play forever BY MY SELF :) )

Yeah I've been waiting around for a new interesting card game to show up but none of them have stuck with me, or really caught my attention. All I have been seeing is either pokemon, yu-gi-oh, or magic the gathering. even sara bella stuff (ftw is that?) I've been trying to get my boyfriend interested in this as well; and got some of my friends interested already, so this is going to deffinately be fun. I really think it'll be a big hit when people find out it can be played solitare, that is deffinately what pulled me back to this card game after I heard about it.
I'm trying to get a group of friends together to road trip to GenCon, so if it happens I plan on dragging them to the DC booth with me.

What both of you said... :D

Not that I didn't like MtG, but it's almost too hard to keep up with the game (even if I could find opponents now days!) and the 'feel' of the game - the artwork and rules - seem more and more commercialized and corporate to me now.

Also, Dungeon Crawler feels (to me anyways) more like early MtG did with fresh new and exciting art that doesn't make me think of Hasbro when I see it :P

WOW everything you said is so right...

I use to enjoy MTG very much, but if your budget it tight and you sit out 1 set you are screwed... just trying to catch up to the current market. And then all the cards you previously had are may have been moved to extended. Which is not suitable for type 2. The game shop that I use to play in only held type 2 tournaments (it was also the only store in 90 mile radius). Now that I have moved to a populated area... LOL... I had thought about taking up MTG again, but I saw some of the cards in play... OMG, the abilities and come into play stats are insane. wtf?

Yeah, I tried MtG tourney scene back around the time Ice Age came out and we had a small but loyal following for it but I never liked 'copycat' decks (taken from whatever deck themes were popular at the national tourney levels) which is what 99% of any tourney decks were. We always enjoyed multi-player games and casual play more often than not. Heck, I've got one friend who had a deck that was entirely coin flip type cards. It would kill him almost as much as anyone else but it was fun to watch him play.

Only tournament I went to I brought a 5 colour deck, I made it to round 4 where I faced a solid black player... not surprisingly I got crushed by royal assassins, nightmares, drains, hypnotic specters... ugh. I hadn't even seen a royal assassin before, let alone 4 of them!

kind of like yu-gi-oh and pokemon now days, they have so many new cards and i think a few new rules. All my cards are older, and they come out with new sets so quickly it's hard to keep up. Old cards get obliterated easy now >.O

DC and World of Warcraft TCG are my favorite card games. Of course I play DC solo mostly and do a lot of tournaments with WOW TCG. Good times :)
